Premier League winner odds

Arsenal finished a bitterly disappointing eighth in the Premier League last season, but how do the bookies think they will fare this season?

Arsenal are 45/1 to win Premier League

Although on paper eighth last season in the Premier League looks very underwhelming for the Gunners, that doesn’t quite tell the full story of the year just gone.

Since taking over in December, Mikel Arteta has vastly improved Arsenal, culminating in winning the FA Cup.

Could they improve even further and mount a title challenge? Bookies aren’t convinced, pricing them as big as 45/1 to win the League.

Keeping hold of their star man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be absolutely vital if Arsenal are serious about a challenging for the title, but even then there are still plenty of question marks elsewhere on the pitch for the Gunners to deal with.

Who will be Arsenal’s top goalscorer?

No surprises in the slightest here, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the shortest priced Arsenal player at 6/1.

Some bookmakers have cut him into 5/1 in the last week, too.

The striker has scored an incredible 54 goals in just 85 Premier League appearances, which is some record.

Lacazette is the second most likely top goalscorer for Arsenal, but is a big price of 40/1. The Frenchman will have to have an incredible season to score more than Arsenal’s captain.

Next Premier League manager to be sacked: is Mikel Arteta safe?

Mikel Arteta is the second least likely manager to be sacked according to the bookies. Having only joined in December last year, Arteta is clearly part of a long-term plan.

The Spaniard is a best price of 80/1 to be sacked first, but some firms make him a 25/1 chance.

He has had a successful first few months in charge, the barring a complete collapse in results, Arteta is safe for a while yet.
