What price are Aston Villa to be relegated? Read oddschecker’s preview of all the key markets ahead of the new season.
Premier League relegation odds
After an impressive and slightly controversial survival last season gaining eight points in their last four games to bring them out of the relegation zone in the final week, what are the odds on Aston Villa to maintain their Premier League status come the end of the season?
Aston Villa are third favourites to be relegated from the Premier League
Despite being in the relegation zone for five months until the penultimate game of the season, Aston Villa are not favourites nor are they odds-on to be relegated come the end of the season. Dean Smith’s men are being priced up at 2/1 to go back down to the Championship.
Aston Villa are yet to bring in any big signings which is the polar opposite of their last season’s approach where they spent £144m bringing in players such as Douglas Luiz, Tyrone Mings and Wesley.
However, managing to keep hold of Jack Grealish thus far may seem like a great deal in itself as the Villa captain was rumoured to be the targets of some of Premier League’s top clubs.
West Brom and Fulham remain favourites for the drop
Brentford’s poor run at the end of last season saw West Brom leapfrog them to gain automatic promotion to the Premier League, achieving the feat for the twelfth time since 2003, earning them the reputation of a typical yo-yo club.
Therefore it is no surprise to see them as joint-favourites alongside Fulham being offered at 11/10 to be relegated once again from the Premier League.
Fulham have bounced back instantly having only spent one season back in the Championship and achieved promotion the hard way through the play-offs much at the expense of Brentford.
Crystal Palace and Newcastle can be found not far behind Aston Villa in the relegation odds both being priced up at 5/2 to finish in the bottom three.

Who will be Aston Villa's top goalscorer?
After an eye-catching 2019/20 campaign, racking up eight goals from left-wing and midfield it’s no surprise Jack Grealish is the favourite to be Aston Villa’s top scorer once again.
The Villa captain is definitely far away from the Golden Boot competition being offered as long as 250/1 to win the Golden Boot.
Aston Villa were definitely short of goals in the previous season leaving them in quite a relegation scrap, despite splashing out on two strikers for hefty prices.
Next Premier League manager to be sacked: is Dean Smith safe?
The Premier League sack race is always an area to keep your eye on in the early stages of the seasons where a number of managers will be feeling hot under the collar.
Dean Smith is amongst the favourites to leave their post first being priced up at 10/1 to part ways with Aston Villa.
There are two managers ahead of the Villa boss to get the sack first in the coming season, Crystal Palace’s, Roy Hodgson 15/2 and then West Ham boss David Moyes 8/1.
Despite not having a very convincing first season in the Premier League, Dean Smith is definitely favourable amongst the fans being one himself and having reinstated their Premier League status and managing to keep them in the league come the end of the season.
