Premier League Top Scorer odds: Big shake up in market as Calvert-Lewin and Son are cut

A 100/1 shot has placed in 11 out of 18 previous seasons

The second game week of the Premier League has shaken up the top goalscorer market, with the race for surprise contenders for the Golden Boot emerging.

Following a scintillating performance against West Brom, Everton hitman Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been cut from 100/1 into just 16/1

That makes him the biggest market mover in the race for top goalscorer, and he’s been the most popular with punters over the last 48 hours.

In that time period, a whopping 31% of all bets in the market have backed the Englishman.

Another man that’s been enjoying a plethora of punting attention is Spurs maestro Heung Min Son, after scoring four goals against Southampton.

Son has been cut from 80/1 into 25/1 to finish the season as top scorer, whilst his teammate Harry Kane remains 9/1 third favourite.

The current market leader is Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, currently the 4/1 favourite at the bookmakers.

Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is the second favourite with all firms offering odds, currently priced at 5/1.

Chelsea new boy Timo Werner is inside the top five favourites at 12/1, followed by last year’s winner, Jamie Vardy, who is 14/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “With the European Championships fast approaching, this would be a very timely season for Dominic Calvert-Lewin to truly shine in the Premier League.

"The Everton man has started this campaign like a freight train, and with so many excellent creative players at Carlo Ancelotti's disposal, you can expect DCL to continue receiving plenty of first-class service from his teammates."
