Aston Villa were the previous favourites to sign the Chelsea midfielder, but have since signed Ross Barkley instead.
Southampton have been cut from 16/1 to 6/4 favourites to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea. The English midfielder looks set for a loan move before the transfer window closes.
Loftus-Cheek had been heavily linked with a move to Aston Villa, who were as short as 1/5 to sign him just yesterday. However, Villa confirmed the signing of Ross Barkley on loan from Chelsea this morning, and Premier League rules state you can only sign one player on loan from the same club.
That news has meant Aston Villa are as good as out of the race for Loftus-Cheek, with Southampton now his most likely destination according to the bookies.

The 24-year-old midfielder spent an entire year on the side-lines due to an Achilles injury, but featured in Chelsea’s opening game of the season against Brighton.
With Chelsea’s influx of new talent, it looks likely that Loftus-Cheek will seek first team football elsewhere in the hope of getting himself back to full strength.
Elsewhere in the market, West Ham are priced at 2/1 to sign him. Aston Villa remain in the market at 3/1, presumably on the off chance they attempt to get him on a permanent deal.
