The 49-year-old is the 4/1 market leader to be named next Three Lions boss, ahead of a host of other English Premier League managers.

Arsene Wenger is the first non-English name on the list, whilst Brendan Rodgers (16/1), Jose Mourinho (20/1) and Antonio Conte (40/1) are all unlikely.

It’s 66/1 that the FA put the ‘pint of wine’ fiasco behind them and re-employ Sam Allardyce, Whilst Sol Campbell (80/1) and Harry Redknapp (100/1) round off the market.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "Despite his relative success as England manager, the tide is starting to turn against Gareth Southgate.

"While Southgate's removal from his role is still very unlikely, the market for his replacement suggests Sean Dyche is the best bet, despite his very different philosophies on the pitch."
