Bookmakers have cut ex-Stoke City manager Tony Pulis to favourite to take over, following the sacking of Garry Monk.

Bookmakers have priced up the next Sheffield Wednesday manager, following the sacking of Garry Monk. Tony Pulis has been cut to odds-on this morning and is as short as 1/3, with early favourite Paul Cook drifting.
Garry Monk spent just over a year at the club and managed the team for a total of 58 games. However, last season’s 16th place finish has been followed up with a disappointing campaign so far.
Sheffield Wednesday have had to contend with a six-point deduction for breaking EFL rules, halved from 12, which sees them just one place off the bottom of the Championship on goal difference.
Tony Pulis cut from 10/1 to as short as 1/3 for the Sheffield Wednesday job
Tony Pulis has been cut to odds-on favourite for the job, priced as short as 1/3. The veteran manager has been out of the game since leaving Middlesbrough in 2019 and could well be the man to drag the Owls out of trouble.
Pulis was priced at 10/1 yesterday, but that price has since crashed into as short as 1/3, and a best price of 1/2.

Paul Cook, Nigel Pearson and Eddie Howe all in the market
Several bookmakers had made Paul Cook the early favourite to take the job at Hillsborough, having recently left Wigan following their relegation and financial turmoil. However, he’s drifted this morning to a best price of 4/1 since the Pulis movement.
Elsewhere in the market, ex-Leicester City and Watford manager Nigel Pearson is as short as 3/1 in places, but a best price of 10/1. Meanwhile, former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is a 16/1 shot.
