- Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is the favourite with most bookies, as short as 6/4.
- Chelsea have won just one of their last five matches in the Premier League.
Sack race odds: Frank Lampard cut to favourite to leave next by some bookies
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been cut to favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave by some bookies.
The Blues’ boss is a best price of 7/2 in the market, but as short as 10/3 in places.
Frank Lampard’s side drew 1-1 with Aston Villa last night at Stamford Bridge, with the manager left ruing several missed opportunities to win the game. That draw follows a dismal display at the Emirates which saw them slip to a 3-1 defeat to struggling Arsenal.
In fact, Chelsea have won just one of their last five matches in the Premier League.
Roy Hodgson favourite with most, Arteta and Wilder short in market
There’s disorder in the next manager to leave market, but most bookmakers have Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson as favourite to leave next. He’s as short as 6/4, but a best price of 3/1.
Chris Wilder remains close to the top of the market too. The Sheffield United manager is a best price of 9/2, but as short as 5/2.
Mikel Arteta was the clear favourite to leave next not long ago, but his price has drifted slightly. Again a best price of 9/2, he’s as short as 10/3 in places.
Next Premier League manager to leave odds:
- Frank Lampard 7/2
- Roy Hodgson 3/1
- Chris Wilder 9/2
- Mikel Arteta 9/2
- Steve Bruce 15/2
- Graham Potter 16/1
Chelsea currently sit sixth in the Premier League table, but just four points off 10th place West Ham.
The COVID outbreak in the Man City squad is likely to see Sunday’s clash postponed, meaning Chelsea’s next league match would be against Fulham on 15th January.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It doesn’t take much to turn a manager’s fortune in this league, and though you’d expect Lampard to be safe in his job for a while yet; Chelsea’s form has been poor lately.
“The club spent over £200million in the summer and the club’s expectations will surely match that outlay. Lampard will need to turn things around domestically before a tough Champions League tie with Atletico.”
