Frank Lampard’s odds slashed to take over at Celtic
After the shock news of Frank Lampard’s sacking from Chelsea, rumours have already circulated about the 42-year-old taking over at Celtic.
66/1 before today, bookies were quick to cut his price on becoming the new Celtic boss.
In a season of discontent for Celtic fans, their club find themselves a huge 23 points behind Rangers, with plenty wanting to see the back of Neil Lennon.

Lampard’s sudden sacking from Chelsea has thrown him into the running to replace Lennon and punters think he may be the right man for the job with 36% of all bets placed on him in the last 24 hours.
Considering Steven Gerrard’s success at Rangers, Celtic may look to go down a similar route with Lampard, with the club in desperate need of freshening things up in what has been a disaster of a campaign.
Will Lampard be keen to go straight into another job? Only time will tell but if Celtic come knocking, he may see it as a good opportunity to rebuild the club. He will hope Celtic offer him more time than Chelsea did.
Rafael Benitez is odds-on favourite for the Celtic job
Former Liverpool and Read Madrid boss Rafael Benitez is still the odds-on favourite for the job at a best price of 4/6.
The Spaniard has had plenty of links to Celtic Park in recent weeks, but his odds have drifted slightly since the news of Lampard’s dismissal.
He’s the second most backed manager in the market in the last 24 hours, with 28% of bets being placed on him.
Reports suggest no official contact has been made with Benitez but he’s still the most likely replacement at this point according to the odds.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "Bookmakers and punters were both keen to pounce on the news from Stamford Bridge this morning, with Lampard priced at 66/1 before the announcement of his sacking.
"In the hour following the news, a whopping 62% of bets backed Lampard for the Parkhead role, sending his price crashing.
"That makes him the immediate third favourite in the market, now only trailing Rafa Benitez (4/6) and Eddie Howe (4/1)."
