Chelsea Manager Odds: Betting suspended on Thomas Tuchel taking over
With Frank Lampard’s imminent departure from Chelsea’s managerial hot-seat all but confirmed, Roman Abramovich is set to turn to German Thomas Tuchel, formerly of PSG and Borussia Dortmund.
The 47-year-old was as short as 1/10 before betting was suspended, as the Blues look to resurrect their stalling season.
It’s clear that Lampard’s standing as a club legend won’t buy him any time, with the club sitting 9th in the Premier League.

Max Allegri and Andriy Shevchenko also in the running
Should Chelsea look elsewhere, former-Juventus boss Max Allegri is second-favourite in this market at 9/2, although he’s as long as 15/2 in places.
Allegri has the pedigree and experience to succeed at Chelsea, and will relish his chance to prove himself in the Premier League.
Third-favourite in the market is another former-Chelsea player: Andriy Shevchenko. The Ukrainian has been in charge of his country’s national team since 2016, but he’s as short as 7/2 to take the hot seat at Stamford Bridge, while prices of 15/2 are available.
Rafa Benitez, who famously took charge of Chelsea in 2012, is 9/1 for the job, with RB Leipzig gaffer Julian Nagelsmann out at 10/1.
