Manchester United for the Premier League? Bookies give them a fighting chance
British bookmakers have cut odds on Manchester United overhauling an 11-point gap and pipping Manchester City to the league.
Just last week, at least two bookies were offering odds of 500/1 on United clinching their 14th Premier League title.

A resounding 2-0 win in the Manchester derby has seen Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side cut from that into as short as 60/1 with the same bookmakers.
The best price of 100/1 only remains with one firm, Sky Bet, with every other bookie offering odds now shorter than 100/1.
Manchester City remain big favourites to clinch title
In turn, odds have drifted incrementally on Man City, with 1/40 the best price on Pep Guardiola’s side after the derby defeat.
Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester are third-favourites at 250/1, whilst Chelsea are available at around the 500/1 mark.
Football gurus WhoScored.com revealed that United have played 11 matches since last winning back-to-back games in the league.
In contrast, Man City haven't lost back-to-back league games since Boxing Day 2018.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Man City’s domestic winning streak seemed like it might never end, prompting bookies to shorten City into near certainties for the title.
“However, an outstanding performance from Man Utd at the Etihad halted City’s procession, and punters have since been backing Solksjaer’s side at enormous prices.
“Since the final whistle blew, a whopping 71% of all bets in the market have backed Man Utd miraculously pipping City to the Premier League title.”
