In the last 24 hours, odds for Jurgen Klopp to be the next Premier League manager to leave have shortened dramatically. The German voiced his distaste for the proposed European Super League, but could he really leave?
Will Klopp really leave Liverpool?
As the fallout from the proposed European Super League continues, some reports suggest that the Liverpool manager could walk out on his job at Anfield in opposition to the board’s decision to sign up to the breakaway league.
Just two days ago the Liverpool manager was 16/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave compared to now, where he can be found as short as 3/1.
Klopp, who has previously spoken out against a breakaway competition in 2019, faced questions last night when Leeds hosted Liverpool at Elland Road. The German manager gave a tempered response but there was a sense of disapproval below the surface: “since I’ve been in football, the Champions League has always been there, my aim was always to coach a team there.”

Where has the money gone?
This sense of disapproval has been recognized by oddschecker punters, who have overwhelmingly backed Klopp to be the next manager to go with 80% of bets.
Klopp empathized with the fans’ concerns that the proposed European Super League was an attack on fair competition: “I like the competitive aspect of football, I like that West Ham might play in the Champions League.”
With the remaining so called ‘big six’ managers still yet to face journalists, it remains unclear whether the actions of owners could do irreparable damage between them and their managers.
