Current Benfica manager Bruno Lage is now odds-on-favourites to take over the Wolves job, after the shock departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Bruno Lage odds-on favourite to become new Wolves boss
Former Benfica manager Bruno Lage has been installed as the clear early favourite to replace the departing Nuno Espirito Santo.
Keeping with the Portuguese theme, bookies have made Lage clear 4/5 favourite, after opening the market this afternoon.
Rafa Benitez is 4/1 second-favourite, whilst former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca is third in the market at 8/1 and Scott Parker 16/1.
Eddie Howe (odds-on favourite for next Celtic manager) is in the market at 16/1, followed by Frank Lampard (16/1) and Pedro Martins (20/1).

Since news broke of Nuno’s departure at the end of the season, the Portuguese coach has shortened into 5/2 favourite for next Spurs boss.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Betting markets quickly reacted to news that Nuno Espirito Santo would leave at the end of the season, almost immediately making him favourite for next Tottenham manager.
“But who will replace him in the Molineux dugout? Bookies opened up with Fonseca as favourite, but was quickly replaced by Bruno Lage, who is now odds-on.”
Next Wolves manager:
- Bruno Lage – 4/5
- Rafa Benitez - 4/1
- Paulo Fonseca – 8/1
- Scott Parker – 16/1
- Eddie Howe – 16/1
- Frank Lampard – 16/1
- Pedro Martins – 20/1
