Bookmakers have slashed odds on Ajax manager Erik ten Hag being named as the next permanent Tottenham boss, following a flurry of betting activity.
In the last 24 hours, ten Hag’s odds have been cut from 12/1 into 6/1 best price, with two firms going as short as 4/1 at the time of writing.
The 51-year-old is the most-backed in that time period, attracting 29% of all bets placed in the market, by far the punters’ pick.

Who are the other contenders?
Betting support for ten Hag has seen him leapfrog previous second-favourite, Brendan Rodgers, who has since slid out to 11/2.
That means ten Hag only trails one man in the bookies’ estimations for next Spurs manager, although odds have drifted on Nuno Espirito Santo since he shot to favourite.
Following the news he would leave Wolves at the end of the season, punters quickly backed Nuno into an odds-on 1/3 shot.
Since then, activity has cooled on the Portuguese manager, and his odds have subsequently slid out to 11/4 with William Hill best price.
Brighton boss Graham Potter is the consensus fourth favourite at 15/2, followed by Simone Inzaghi (19/1), Ralf Rangnick (20/1) and Scott Parker (25/1).
