After only one game into the season Mikel Arteta was slashed from 12/1 to 2/1 following a miserable opening day defeat to Brentford.
Arteta Slashed after opening day defeat
Ahead of the second round of Premier League fixtures, bookmakers have tweaked their odds on which manager will be the first to leave.
The red hot favourite in the market is under pressure Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who has been cut from 12/1 pre-season into just 2/1 best price.
Arteta’s odds were sent tumbling following opening day defeat to newly promoted Brentford, with some bookies opting to cut odds into as short as 1/1.

Who are the other contenders
Patrick Viera has only just been recently appointed Crystal Palace’s new manager, but a 3-0 opening defeat sees him tucked in behind Arteta as the bookies’ 9/1 second favourite.
Newcastle’s Steve Bruce is next in the firing line at 12/1 best price, alongside Watford’s Xisco Munoz at the same price (12/1).
Ralph Hassenhuttl is also available at the 12/1 mark, followed by Sean Dyche (16/1), Bruno Lage (18/1) and Dean Smith (20/1).
Brendan Rodgers (66/1) and David Moyes (66/1) are among the safest gaffers in the Premier League, whilst Jurgen Klopp has the longest odds at 80/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "When looking at all bets in this market over the last week, a whopping 61% have backed Mikel Arteta to be the first Premier League manager sacked.
"Proving popular with punters, bookies had no choice but to cut Arteta's odds following Arsenal's disappointing defeat to Brentford, making him the new clear favourite in the market.
"Watford's inspired 3-2 win over Aston Villa has seen previous favourite Xisco Munoz lengthen from 6/1 out to 12/1."
