With the international break happening, oddschecker will provide an update on who is currently leading the market for player of the year and who could make a charge as the season progresses.
The favourites
Portuguese super-star Cristiano Ronaldo is currently leading the market at 4/1.
Ronaldo will be looking to add this award for the third time having previously picked it up in 2007 and 2008 before leaving Manchester United. He has currently scored three goals in the league in just four starts and will be hoping to keep this form up during the rest of the season.
Right behind Ronaldo is Liverpool’s winger Mohamed Salah who can be found at 4/1 but has a best price of 5/1.
The Egyptian forward has scored six goals from seven games, whilst also contributing three assists so far this season and will be wanting to add this trophy to his impressive trophy haul.

The other contenders
Following right behind the two inform strikers is Romelu Lukaku at 7/1, last year’s winner Kevin De Bruyne is currently 10/1 and has taken up 30% of bets to win it again, Bruno Fernandes (14/1) and Jack Grealish (14/1). Previous winner Harry Kane is currently priced at 20/1 having not scored a single league goal this year for Tottenham.
In terms of further odds in the league, Ruben Dias (50/1), Sadio Mane (50/1) and Raheem Sterling (50/1) are the least likely to win the award now but with a lot of the season still left to play there is every opportunity they could make a late push.
