It was clear to see how much Liverpool struggled against Manchester City on Sunday at Anfield. Towards the tail end of the first half, City suffocated them in midfield and took control of the game with Liverpool barely touching the ball in this period. Undoubtedly this raises question marks amongst the Anfield faithful whether their midfield is capable to go toe to toe with a team of Manchester City’s quality. The youngster Bellingham would be a perfect fit for Jurgens Klopp’s side. The high-pressure suffocating style of Liverpool would suit Bellingham. He is a tenacious and athletic box to box midfielder and at only 18 years old he still has a lot of time to become even better.

Who else is in the running to sign Bellingham?

The second favourite according to bookmakers are the European Champions Chelsea at 3/1. One could argue that they have no need for Bellingham considering the plethora of midfield options they currently have. Third favourites are Manchester United at 9/2, with their recent woes in midfield and getting caught on the counterattack regularly, Bellingham could be a success at Old Trafford no doubt.

A touch longer in the market is Real Madrid at 10/1, Bayern Munich and Arsenal both at 16/1, Barcelona at 20/1 and Juventus at 25/1.
