He’s now overtaken Brendan Rodgers in the betting
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been cut into the clear favourite to be named next Newcastle manager, as pressure continues to mount on Steve Bruce.
Lampard has been cut from 25/1 just days ago into 7/2 best price at the time of writing, with punters increasingly keen on the former England midfielder.
In the last 12 hours, Lampard has attracted the most amount of punting attention, accruing around 28% of all bets in the market.
That means he’s leapfrogged the previous favourite, Brendan Rodgers, who in turn has drifted from 2/1 market leader out to 12/1.
There’s a new second favourite in the shape of Antonio Conte, the closest man to Lampard in the betting at 7/1.
Former Borussia Dortmund gaffer Lucien Favre is next up on the list at 12/1, followed by Roberto Martinez (14/1), Steven Gerrard (16/1), Eddie Howe (16/1) and Ralf Rangnick (18/1).
Rafa Benitez is 25/1 for a return to St James Park, then comes Zinedine Zidane (25/1), Jose Mourinho (33/1), Unai Emery (40/1) and Gareth Southgate (40/1).
