Manchester United manager odds: Zinedine Zidane into clear favourite as pressure mounts on Solskjaer

After a five nil thumping over the weekend Solskjaer job is under threat and Zindane has move into clear favourite to takeover.

Zidane clear favourite to takeover at Old Trafford

Former Champions League winning manger Zinedine Zidane is the clear favourite to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United, with pressure mounting on the Norwegian.

Zidane has been cut from 12/1 into 3/1 clear favourite in the race for the Old Trafford dugout and has proved incredibly popular following United’s loss to Liverpool.

In the last 24 hours, around 40% of all bets on the next United manager have backed the Real Madrid icon to take over.

Who are the other contenders

Elsewhere in the market, Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is the second favourite at 5/1, followed by former Chelsea man Antonio Conte (6/1).

A former favourite in the market, Mauricio Pochettino has drifted to 12/1, whilst current forward Cristiano Ronaldo has entered the market at 16/1.

Erik ten Hag is 16/1, followed by Laurent Blanc (33/1), Luis Enrique (33/1), Ralph Hassenhuttl (33/1) and Nuno Espirito Santo (40/1).

Solskjaer’s side fell to a 5-1 home thumping and has since shortened to odds on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave.

At the time of writing, Solskjaer is now odds-on with every bookmaker in the UK to leave next, at as short as 1/5 with Paddy Power.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “With odds as short as 1/5, bookies are implying an 83% chance that Solskjaer is the next Premier League manager to leave.

“The next Manchester United manager market is one of, if not the biggest football specials market for UK bookies and is receiving a tonne of punting attention following Utd’s defeat yesterday.

“Punters and bookies have unanimously crowned Zidane as the current clear favourite, leapfrogging Rodgers and Conte in the process.”
