Next Manchester United manager odds: Mauricio Pochettino joins Brendan Rodgers at top of the market

The perennially link Argentine has been popular this morning...

Odds have been decisively cut on Mauricio Pochettino succeeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

Pochettino’s odds have been cut from 16/1 just yesterday, into as short as 3/1 at the time of writing.

That means the former Spurs manager is now the clear favourite with both Paddy Power and Betfair to take over at Old Trafford.

There is a great deal of price disparity on Poch, however, with Sky Bet remaining firm at 14/1 that Daniel Levy gives him the job again.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has also leapfrogged Antonio Conte into contention to become the next permanent Manchester Utd manager.

Since news broke of Nuno’s sacking at Spurs, Conte’s odds have dramatically shortened on taking over from him, sending his price drifting for Manchester.

Conte’s odds have lengthened from 10/11 out to 10/1 to succeed Solskjaer at United.

In turn, Rodgers has leapt above Conte in the betting, with bookies cutting odds on the Northern Irishman from 10/1 into 4/1 clear favourite.

Punters have been quick to jump on Rodgers too, with 54% of all bets in the last 24 hours on United’s next gaffer, all backing him.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “The Premier League managerial merry-go-round is in full swing, and a sacking in North London has thrown everything up in the air.

“Mauricio Pochettino has been odds-on a number of times for next Manchester United manager over the last year, and he’s shortening again.

“Bookies can’t quite decide between Pochettino and Rodgers, with Paddy Power and Betfair favouring the former – and the likes of Sky Bet sticking with the latter.”
