oddschecker take a look at who could be the next man to leave their post in the Premier League.
The Everton manager is winless in his last seven Premier League games…..
So far during this Premier League season, six managers have been dismissed. In today’s game, this is a regular occurrence with results now rather than later being the preference for Premier League clubs. It is, therefore, no surprise that the Everton manager is now being touted as the bookies favourite to be the next man sacked from his post.
Is time up for Rafa?
At the time of writing Rafa Benitez odds have dramatically shortened, he is now as short as 4/6 with some bookmakers. He faces an uphill task in the fight to keep his job with a Merseyside derby just around the corner. Liverpool visit Goodison Park on Wednesday night. The high-flying reds will expect all three points with the form that they’re currently in.
If Everton do fail to get something out of the game, you’d be hard-pressed to find solid reasons to keep Benitez at the club. For a club of Everton’s stature and the squad that they have they should be performing better than 14th position.
Who else is in the running?
After the first three favourites, there’s a drop off to the next most likely gaffers for the sack. A quartet of managers should be looking over their shoulders.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is the second favourite at 5/1, they’re in better form than Everton with 2 wins in their last four games.
Next up is newly appointed Watford boss Claudio Ranieri, things haven’t exactly been dilly ding dilly dong since he took over at Vicarage Road. He has two wins in his first six fixtures. He is at 10/1 to be the next to go.
A few additional outsiders are Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers at 16/1 and Marcelo Bielsa also at 16/1.
The long shots in this market are Eddie Howe at 20/1, Sean Dyche at 25/1 and Graham Potter at 33/1.
Next Premier League manager to be sacked odds:
- Rafa Benitez - 6/4
- Ralph Hasenhuttl - 5/1
- Claudio Ranieri - 10/1
- Brendan Rodgers - 16/1
- Marcelo Bielsa - 16/1
- Eddie Howe - 20/1
