Howe’s that? Eddie closes on rare Newcastle hat-trick
Aston Villa have only won one of 18 matches away at Newcastle since the turn of the millennium; the infamous game in which Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer had a scrap and three Newcastle players were sent off in a 3-0 defeat.
Eddie Howe has won his last three matches against Aston Villa and is aiming to achieve something Steve Bruce never did at the club in winning three league games in a row. Bruce’s predecessor Rafael Benitez last achieved the feat back in November 2018.
As revealed by stats from WhoScored.com, each of the last seven meetings between the two teams at St James' Park have seen under 2.5 goals, with four of those games ending 1-1.

Manchester United shooting on sight but not on target
Manchester United have had 70 shots over their last three matches and scored just three goals. Cristiano Ronaldo (16) and Bruno Fernandes (12) have been responsible for 28 of those shots across the three-match period without scoring.
United have only scored more than once in three of Rangnick's 12 matches in charge and are conceding more shots on target per game (5.11) than they are taking (4.33). However, both teams have scored in each of Southampton's last nine matches in all competitions.
Bowen shows the way for English forwards
Jarrod Bowen has six goals in his last six appearances for West Ham and has scored in two of three meetings against Leicester, including his first ever away goal for the Hammers.
He has now had a direct hand in more goals than any other Englishman in the Premier League (14), as well as more than Harry Kane, Jack Grealish and Jadon Sancho combined (13).
Only Watford have kept fewer clean sheets in the Premier League than Bowen’s next opponents Leicester, who have conceded at least three goals in each of their last three meetings with West Ham.
