Only four points separate five teams for the final relegation spot
The third and final relegation spot could go to five different teams with Burnley (20 points), Newcastle (22), Everton (22), Leeds (23) and Brentford (24).
The January transfer window has affected clubs in different ways for Sean Dyche’s Burnley losing their talisman striker Chris Wood to relegation rivals Newcastle could have been catastrophic, but they have two games in hand on teams above them and they have been buoyed by the signing of Wout Weghorst after picking up eight points in their last five league games. They are currently third in the relegation market at 11/10 but odds are drifting with every performance.
The same can be said for Newcastle who acquired a host of players over January with the likes of Dan Burns, Matt Targett and Kieran Tripper giving a needed boost to Howe’s Newcastle. They can currently be found at the huge price of 9/2 considering only last month they could have been found as odds-on-favourite to go down.

After a great start to life with Rafa Benitez, Everton have found themselves with a new manager and have now walked into a relegation battle. New manager Frank Lampard will be hoping that his side can take advantage of the two games they have in hand over their relegation rivals to put some distance between them. The Toffees can currently be found at the same price as Newcastle (9/2), likely due to their two games in hand but have only picked up one win in their last five and have seen four defeats in that time.
After a great start to life back in the Premier League last year Leeds are certainly in the mix for relegation with Bielsa’s men not seeing a win since the middle of January and his side have shipped in a total of 56 goals so far - a league-high. Bielsa will be cursing injuries to key men last year including Patrick Bamford and Kalvin Phillips but performances have not been great having lost 6-0 to Liverpool and 4-2 to Manchester United in a space of week. Since those two games they have been cut from 5/1 to fourth favorites in the market to a best price of 11/4 and the Whites have seen 20% of all bets in the market in the last 12 hours.
Premier League new boys Brentford adapted well to life in the Premier League at the start of the year, beating Arsenal 2-0 but have slowly seen the team’s performance drop, with Thomas Frank’s men not seeing a win in the league since the 2nd of January. They are the most backed by oddschecker punters to go down having seen 62% of all bets and currently sit a best price of 100/30.
