Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most backed transfer bets through oddschecker today, but is the Portuguese record-breaker really about to leave Manchester United?
Since making a sensational return to Old Trafford from Juventus last summer, Ronaldo has hardly failed from a goalscoring perspective. He scored 24 times in all competitions last season, including 18 in the Premier League - a number only bettered by joint Golden Boot winners Mohamed Salah and Heung-min Son.

Ronaldo’s return to last just one season?
Yet despite his goalscoring exploits, doubts persist over his future at the club for two reasons. Firstly, Ronaldo is reportedly worried about the club’s slow start to the first transfer window under new manager Erik ten Hag and seeking assurances over the level of reinforcements to expect between now and the new Premier League season starting in early August.
Secondly, although ten Hag tried to diffuse such a narrative at his official unveiling by saying Ronaldo will bring goals to his team, the suggestion still lingers that the 37-year-old doesn’t fit with the Dutch coach's preferred playing style.

What are Ronaldo's transfer options?
At the time of writing, only Raphinha, Christian Eriksen and Gareth Bale (13/8 to join any MLS club) have attracted more transfer bets through oddschecker today, with split backing for Ronaldo to make a summer move to either PSG (best price 9/1) and Real Madrid (11/1).
Of the two, and contrary to those best prices through oddschecker, a stunning return to Real Madrid would appear more likely – especially since Kylian Mbappe signed a new mega money deal and is set to continue his front three partnership with Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Champions League winners Real Madrid, meanwhile, have the extremely talented 21-year-old duo of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo to complement Ballon d’Or favourite Karim Benzema, but could free up space for Ronaldo by selling the likes of Marco Asensio, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard.
