When is the UEFA Super Cup 2022?

The annual match between the winners of the two main European club competitions will see Real Madrid take on Eintracht Frankfurt in Helsinki on Wednesday 10th August.

Four time winners of the traditional curtain raiser for European competition, Real Madrid, secured their place with a 1-0 Champions League final win over Liverpool in Paris back in May, with Vinicius Jnr scoring the only goal.

Frankfurt, meanwhile, came from behind to beat Rangers on penalties in the Europa League final in Seville, with Aaron Ramsey the only man across both teams to miss from the spot. It will be the first time Frankfurt have contested the UEFA Super Cup, while it is the eighth outing for Madrid.

UEFA Super Cup Odds

Real Madrid are a best price 1/2 to win the match in 90 minutes, with the draw at 7/2 and a Frankfurt win 11/2. The Champions League holders are 1/4 to lift the trophy (ET & penalties inclusive), with Frankfurt priced at 3/1 in the same market.

Looking further ahead, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are surprisingly only fifth favourites to win this season’s Champions League at a best price of 12/1. Manchester City are the 3/1 market leaders.

Having qualified by virtue of winning the Europa League in 2021/22, Frankfurt will start this season’s Champions League campaign at huge 250/1 outsiders.
