Acca Scout 9/1 Bet Builder

In light of this Betfair offer, the Acca Scout has suggested an 9/1 Bet Builder to consider for your qualifying bet. The same bet is as short as 11/2 with other leading bookmakers.

  • Both Teams to Score
  • Both Teams +0.5 Yellow Cards
  • Granit Xhaka Yellow Card
  • Gabriel Jesus 1+ Shots on Target

The first leg of our recommended Bet Builder is Both Teams to Score. The last 10 league games between the two sides have featured an average of 3.5 goals. In fact, across the last five seasons, this bet would only have failed on two occasions - a 0-0 draw at the Emirates in January 2021 and the 3-0 home win for Palace in April, which completely derailed Arsenal's top four bid.

The 3-0 drubbing was also an exception to another recent trend from matches between the two sides as no Palace players collected a card. Both teams had received at least one in the previous four meetings - a run of games which included the 1-1 draw in January 2020 featuring two yellows for Palace, three for Arsenal and a red for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Adding +0.5 yellow cards for both sides is the next stage of our Bet Builder.

Granit Xhaka wasn't booked in that one, but he did make his way into Paul Tierney's notebook in the 3-0 match after being moved from midfield to left back. He has previous with this fixture too, having been loudly jeered by Arsenal fans in a 2-2 draw with Palace – which caused him to gesture back and remove his shirt. Xhaka was booked 10 times last season, more than any other Arsenal player.

And finally, Gabriel Jesus is ready to make his Premier League debut for Arsenal. The Brazilian made 28 league appearances for Manchester City last season, but for a total of 1,880 minutes (just over 20 full matches). According to data taken from WhoScored.com, he registered 25 shots on target (only Kevin de Bruyne and Raheem Sterling from Manchester City had more) from 64 total shots, with 19 off target and 20 blocked. 1+ shots on target in the opener would appear to be a safe selection.
