Premier League Sack Race Odds: Brendan Rodgers' odds shorten after defeat to 10-man Chelsea

After a disappointing start to the season, odds for Brendan Rodgers to be the next manager to leave have shortened. Who is among the favourites to replace him?

After Leicester’s third successive defeat against Chelsea, and a severe lack of inbound activity in the transfer window, Brendan Rodgers is currently the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post. He is currently best priced odds of 8/13 to leave the Foxes.

Leicester’s only signing in the window was Alex Smithies, a backup keeper to current number one Danny Ward. With Wesley Fofana departing and James Maddison linked with a move away, it's no surprise the fans are so frustrated.

Leicester have receded in recent years; after successive fifth place finishes, including an FA Cup win in 2021 they failed to qualify for Europe last campaign and lost out in the UEFA Conference League semi finals to Roma.

With Rodgers looking set to leave the Foxes, who are some of the replacements who could come in in his place?

Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has been out of a job after leaving Paris Saint Germain last July and many bookies are linking him with a return to the Premier League. He managed in the Premier League for six years at Southampton and Tottenham.

Sean Dyche

The former Burnley manager who departed the Clarets last season is in the running. He brought Burnley up from the Championship and managed them on a tight budget within the Premier League, earning plaudits for doing so against teams with much less financial constraint.

Rafael Benitez

The ex-Everton and Liverpool manager has also been named as a potential replacement to Brendan Rodgers. He was most recently sacked as Everton manager after less then half a season. He has previously won the Champions League and FA Cup with Liverpool, but has struggled in other roles.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

The Norwegian Manchester United legend and former manager completes the names in the hat. While he was unable to win a single trophy as United manager. Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer did guide Manchester United to successive top 4 finishes, something which Rodgers has been unable to guide Leicester to.
