Next Wolves Manager Odds: Julen Lopetegui odds on to replace Bruno Lage

Sevilla boss Julen Lopetegui now heads a number of Portuguese contenders in the next Wolves manager odds market.

Julen Lopetegui

Julen Lopetegui (2/5) is the new big favourite in the next Wolves manager odds market. The former Spain boss (albeit temporarily) is under pressure at Sevilla having overseen just one win in the first seven La Liga games.

He was linked to Wolves as far back as 2016 before landing the Spain job, which he was sacked from having announced his decision to join Real Madrid after the 2018 World Cup. He subsequently lasted less than four months and just 14 matches with Los Blancos.

Pedro Martins

The shortest priced Portuguese manager in the market is now Pedro Martins (best price 8/1), out of work since being sacked by Olympiakos in August after more than four years in charge.

He led Olympiakos to three league titles (2020-2022) and one Greek Cup (2020) but paid the price for an embarrassing 4-0 home defeat to Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League qualifiers.

Ruben Amorim

The 37-year-old (best price 12/1), capped 14 times by Portugal in his playing career, has been in charge of Sporting since March 2020. He led them to the title in his first full season but finished six points adrift of champions Porto in 2021/22.

Sérgio Conceição

We go next to another Portuguese manager, unsurprising given the influence of Jorge Mendes, whose agency holds a strong relationship with owners Fosun Group. Sérgio Conceição (best price 25/1) has been with Porto since June 2017, securing his third league title in 2021/22.

Andre Villas-Boas

Our final contender is someone a bit more familiar to English football fans in Andre Villas-Boas, who finds himself at a best price 25/1 to replace Bruno Lage. Out of work since leaving Marseille in February of last year, Villas-Boas spent unsuccessful periods in charge of both Chelsea and Spurs.

Having spent just eight months with the Blues, he lasted a little longer at Spurs (17 months) but was sacked with the club in 7th after squandering much of the money from Gareth Bale's world record sale to Real Madrid.
