Next West Brom Manager Odds: Sean Dyche & Leam Richardson lead the race to replace Steve Bruce

Sean Dyche is now vying with Wigan boss Leam Richardson for favouritism in the next West Brom manager odds market.

Who are the favourites to replace Steve Bruce?

Sean Dyche

A predictable inclusion in the next West Brom manager odds market is Sean Dyche (6/1), but is the former Burnley manager holding out for a return to the Premier League?

Since leaving Burnley earlier in the year, Dyche has been linked with a host of clubs including several in the Championship. The 51-year-old certainly knows the division well having overseen two promotions to the Premier League. With the talent available at West Brom, he could be the man to reverse the Baggies’ ailing fortunes.

Leam Richardson

Wigan Athletic manager Leam Richardson is now 2/1 with one bookie to take over from Steve Bruce at West Brom (5/1 best price). The Latics sit 16th in the Championship table with 16 points, five points and six players above the Baggies. Richardson has been with Wigan as permanent boss for just short of two years, winning the EFL League One title in 2021/22.

Roy Keane

Roy Keane first sparked rumours of his interest in the West Brom job by appearing at Preston for the club's 1-0 defeat last Wednesday. Five days on, and the former Sunderland and Ipswich manager turned pundit found himself at the head of the queue to replace Steve Bruce but is no longer the favourite at a best price 6/1.

Scott Parker

Scott Parker is also in the race (16/1) to replace Steve Bruce despite being out of work for just six weeks since leaving Bournemouth. The 41-year-old, capped 18 times by England in his playing career, was sacked by the Cherries after overseeing a 9-0 hammering at Anfield.

Parker is establishing a reputation for success in the Championship, with promotions at both Fulham and Bournemouth already on his CV.

Chris Wilder

Wilder only left Middlesbrough on October 3rd but is already linked with a swift return into management with the 55-year-old now a best price 6/1 to replace Bruce (4/1 with one bookmaker).

Things at Middlesbrough didn’t go quite right for Wilder, who left the club in the relegation zone and could find similar problems should he take over at West Brom. The team is low on confidence and missing that spark up front, something he failed to address in his time on Teesside.

Rob Edwards

Only sacked by Watford two weeks ago, Rob Edwards was considered a shoo-in to replace Wilder at Middlesbrough this time last week (he came into 1/4 with some bookmakers) but has now ceded favouritism for that market to Michael Carrick. Instead, the 39-year-old former Forest Green boss is reportedly on the radar of the West Brom board (16/1).

Michael Carrick

Despite being as short as 1/2 with one bookmaker to land at Middlesbrough, Carrick still plays his part in the early next West Brom manager odds market (now 33/1 but as short as 16s).

The 41-year-old enjoyed a decorated playing career, winning five Premier League titles and a Champions League with Manchester United. He had three games as caretaker manager of the Old Trafford club almost a year ago, winning two and drawing the other.

And what about an outsider in the market?

John Terry

A big outsider (25/1), but is this the moment John Terry takes his managerial bow? A coaching consultant at Chelsea since the end of last year, the former England captain is still to manage a team despite shadowing Dean Smith in a near three-year spell as Aston Villa head coach.
