After a disappointing season for Chelsea and Mason Mount, including ongoing contract discussions between the two parties, there is much talk over where the England international will be playing his football next season. With just a year left on his contract, Manchester United look like the club most likely to secure the two-time Chelsea Player of the Season’s signature.

Mount was a key part in Chelsea’s Top 4 finish in 2021/22, contributing with 11 goals and 10 assists whilst appearing in 32 of their 38 league games. He was also a key part in both of their recent Champions League’s runs in the previous two seasons, where they won the competition and reached the quarter-finals.
This season however, he has scored three times and picked up just two assists, which seems like a major drop-off compared to last season. Contract discussions may have contributed to this, as well as the chaos at Chelsea in terms of signings and managerial appointments.

Manchester United Odds to Sign Mount
At a best price of 1/3, Mason Mount looks likeliest to be playing his football at Old Trafford next season. A valuation of £70m has been placed on Mount by the Blues, but Man United are keen on signing him. Mount has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, so just an agreement between the clubs is what will make the move happen.
He would join the likes of England teammates Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Luke Shaw, and with his good friend and former Chelsea academy teammate Declan Rice potentially on the way to United (9/1), there is every chance he sees the move to Old Trafford as a suitable one for him.
Chelsea Odds to keep Mount
Mount is a best price of 7/2 to stay at Chelsea after the end of the transfer window. This would surely mean he signs a new contract and pledges his allegiance to the Blues. He was a crucial part of the team in recent years since he made his debut in 2019, but last season has proved tough for Mount, and the Blues look ready to cash in on him amidst their huge squad.
It is unclear whether Mount would like to stay at Chelsea or not, but seeing that his contract discussions have been ongoing, there is every chance he leaves the club this window before he is available to go on a free next year.
Liverpool Odds to Sign Mount
Previously odds on to join at the end of the window throughout March and April, Mount is now a best price of 12/1 to join Liverpool, most likely as a result of Alexis Mac Allister’s Anfield arrival.
The valuation of Mount by Chelsea might have also been a factor as to why their interest has cooled off, as they are unable to splurge £70m on a midfielder at the moment. Prices have shortened for James Ward-Prowse, who Liverpool are reportedly interested in, which might mean they are less likely to sign the Chelsea player.
Arsenal Odds to Sign Mount
Another club who were potentially in the mix for Mount, with some prices as short as EVS back in May, Arsenal can now be backed at a best price of 25/1 to sign the Englishman. Arsenal do have options in that area of the field in Martin Odegaard and Fabio Vieira, and for the price that Chelsea are asking for might seem too out of their budget.
Like Manchester United, Arsenal are in the race to sign his friend Declan Rice, which might impact the decision of Mount to go to Arsenal, but it seems unlikely according to the bookmakers.
