There has been a surge in bets supporting members of Sarina Wiegman’s England Lionesses to clinch the prestigious 2023 Sports Personality of the Year Award following Wednesday's semi-final victory over Australia.
With the team’s thrilling performance taking them to a first ever World Cup Final, a whopping 84% of total bets on this market over the past week are rooting for the members of the England squad.
Should a Lioness win the award, it will mark the second consecutive year an England player has secured this honour, following Beth Mead's win in 2022.

Two players, in particular, have caught the attention of punters. Striker Alessia Russo, thanks to her goal-scoring prowess, has seen 29% of bets this week, dramatically reducing her odds from a former 14/1 to a compelling 4/1.
