We look at the favourites for this season’s Champions League ahead of the Group Stage.
After Manchester City’s first Champions League final win over Inter Milan in June, the Champions League returns for the next campaign. Newcastle United, Man United and Arsenal join Pep Guardiola’s side from England as they look to battle it out against the other European heavyweights.
Newcastle start their first Champions League campaign since the 2003/04 season with a tough trip to the San Siro to face AC Milan. This might be seen as a good time to play a bruised Milan side who lost 5-1 against their city rivals Inter last weekend.
Meanwhile, Harry Kane’s Bayern Munich find themselves in Group A with Man United, with the two teams meeting on Wednesday 20th September.

The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League final will take place at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1st June 2024. The highlight of European football's club calendar returns to the London venue for a record eighth time. The last Champions League final at Wembley was Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund in 2013.

Who are the favourites to win the Champions League?
Following their win last year, Manchester City are the favourites to lift the Champions League for a second time at a best price of 9/4. They have won their first five Premier League fixtures and look as unstoppable as ever. Their nearest challengers are Bayern Munich, who are a best price of 11/2.
Man City Champions League Odds
The current holders Man City are expected to go far in the competition and they are heavy favourites to win Group G. Bayern Munich Champions League Odds
The German giants will be expected to go far as well, despite falling to eventual winners Man City in last year’s competition. They won the 2019/20 Champions League and have six to their name. They are a best price of 11/2 to lift the trophy, and are also expected to win their group. A best price of 11/20 is available for them to win Group A against Man United, Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen.
Real Madrid Champions League Odds
The 14 time holders Real Madrid are third favourites to win the Champions League, having won their last title in 2022. Like Bayern, Madrid went out of the competition to the eventual winners last year at the semi-final stage. A best price of 17/2 is available for the Spanish team to lift their 15th title. They are 8/13 favourites to win Group C, which also contains Napoli, Union Berlin and Braga.
Arsenal Champions League Odds
Mikel Arteta has guided the Gunners back to the Champions League for the first time since 2016/17 and they will take on Sevilla, PSV and Lens in Group B. They are expected to progress to the knockouts and are a best price of 11/1 to win the entire competition – fourth favourites behind Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Barcelona Champions League Odds
Xavi’s Barcelona side didn’t feature in last season's Champions League knockout rounds after dropping out at the Group Stage. They will be keen to re-establish themselves amongst the European heavyweights, and a best price of 14/1 is available for them to win the tournament. They are a best price of 2/5 to win Group H against FC Porto, Antwerp and Shakhtar Donetsk
PSG Champions League Odds
Despite having lost Lionel Messi and Neymar over the summer, Kylian Mbappe and co will be keen to bounce back from their Champions League exit to Bayern Munich last season.
They face tough group opponents in Newcastle, AC Milan ad Borussia Dortmund, but are 6/5 favourites to win the group. They are a best price of 16/1 to win their first Champions League title.

The Red Devils have had a tricky start to this season, with just two wins from their first five games. They have won this competition three times, but a fourth this season seems rather unlikely.

Newcastle United Champions League Odds
The Magpies face a tough group back in the Champions League which many are calling the ‘Group of Death’. They have to face PSG, AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund. Despite this, Newcastle are a best price of 17/20 to progress out the group, but at a best price of 33/1 to win the whole competition. It would take a major surprise for Eddie Howe’s side to lift the trophy in June.
