Everton Relegation Odds: Toffees 2/1 for the drop amid points deduction rumours

The relegation odds for Everton have been cut by the bookmakers amid rumours of a 12-point deduction for breaching financial rules.

Everton have supposedly accumulated £371.8 million in losses over a three-year period, which is over three times the amount permitted by the league rules.

Rumours are that the Premier League bosses have recommended a 12-point deduction if they are found guilty of breaching financial fair play (FFP) rules.

If this point deduction was inflicted today, Sean Dyche’s team would be on -5 points, 10 points adrift from 17th position. Since the news broke this morning, Everton’s odds for relegation have been cut from 3/1 to 2/1 and could continue to crash if these stories persist.

Leon Blackman from oddschecker said: “Things could be going from bad to worse for Everton fans. Rumours swirling around a potential point-deduction have led bookies to cut their odds from 3/1 to 2/1 to be relegated this season.

“If Everton are given a 12-point deduction, their odds will surely be cut into odds-on in the betting market. 83.6% of bets today on the Premier League relegation market have been on Everton, with punters keen to get on these odds before they potentially shorten again. A 12-point deduction to Everton’s total last season would’ve left them finishing bottom of the Premier League table.”

Everton travel to West Ham for their next Premier League match on Sunday.
