Next Charlton Manager Odds: Jones odds on to replace Appleton at the Valley

There is a big favourite with the bookmakers in the next Charlton manager odds.

Michael Appleton was sacked after Charlton's 3-2 home defeat against Northampton on Tuesday, which left the Addicks just four points above the League One drop zone.

The culmination of a 12-game winless run in all competitions, Appleton had only been in the role for four and a half months since succeeding Dean Holden in September.

He managed eight wins from his 28 games in charge.

Who is the favourite to be the next Charlton manager?

Nathan Jones is the odds on favourite to replace Michael Appleton as Charlton manager at 1/2 on BetVictor (implied 66% chance).

Jones has been out of work since lasting just over three months at Southampton, where he recorded just one league win in eight matches and became the shortest serving non-caretaker manager in the club's history.

The Welsh manager was ridiculed for his arrogance at the time despite the poor results. However, he did achieve better things at Luton, where he won the 2021/22 Championship manager of the season after guiding them to the Championship play-off semi-finals.
