Euro 2024 Qualifiers Odds: Wales given 40% chance of making it to Germany

Euro 2024 Qualifiers Odds: Wales given 40% chance of making it to Germany

Wales have just two games between them and qualification for the Euro 2024 tournament in Germany this summer.

Wales failed to qualify outright for Euro 2024, placing third in their group behind Croatia and Turkey. They now must go through the play-offs to secure a spot in the competition in summer.

Joining Wales to battle it out in a knockout style competition will be Poland, Estonia and Finland who will compete in ‘Path A’. Each team will play just one semi-final, and should they win that, one final to decide their fate.

The winner of that final will join the Netherlands, France and Austria in Group D of the Euro 2024 tournament.

They play the first of their play off fixtures on Thursday 21st March against Finland at the Cardiff City Stadium. They are 9/10 (best price) favourites to win this game on Betfred

Wales 6/4 40%
Finland 6/1 14%
Estonia 40/1 2.4%

Favourites, Poland, have been in every European Championship since 2008 and despite a rocky period under their former manager Fernando Santos, new manager Michal Probierz has steadied the ship and remains unbeaten since taking charge.

Second favourites Wales are no strangers to this route to major international tournaments having defeated Austria and Ukraine in 2022 to make it to their first World Cup in 64 years.

Despite a rocky start to their Euro 2024 qualifying group, they did manage to recover, going on a four-game unbeaten streak to secure third spot. This run featured a win over Croatia and a draw against Turkey. Although it wasn’t enough to qualify, it will give them the confidence that they have what it takes to win this play off group.
