Championship Relegation Odds: Can Birmingham avoid the drop?

Championship Relegation Odds: Can Birmingham avoid the drop?

Birmingham and Plymouth's fate in the Championship will be determined on the last day of the season.

The Championship regular season concludes on Saturday 4th May as each of the 24 teams kick off their final games of the season at 12:30 PM.

For many teams, these games may not affect the outcome of their season. However, for some, their final match will be make or break for their future in the league.

Birmingham and Plymouth are both threatened with the prospect of relegation as the former occupies the final relegation spot and the latter sits just a point above in 21st.

Birmingham will face Norwich at home in the season finale while Plymouth take on play-off hopeful's Hull City.

As things stand Birmingham are favourites to drop to League One at a best price of 8/15 at Sky Bet.

Who is most likely to get relegated from the Championship?

Huddersfield are all but relegated as things stand, even if Plymouth and Birmingham both lose, they are 15 goals behind Plymouth on goal difference.

Birmingham must avoid defeat at home to 5th placed Norwich to have any chance of staying up, while they will need to win should Plymouth get anything from their home match with Hull City.

Ironically, Hull in 7th must win to have any chance of reaching the playoffs, while they may well be reliant on a heavy defeat for Norwich at Birmingham to overturn the points difference.

Plymouth can be found at a best price of 5/2 at William Hill to be relegated.

Both Blackburn and Sheffield Wednesday need just a point to guarantee safety. In both cases, they can only go down if both Birmingham and Plymouth win their matches.

If Birmingham and Plymouth win but Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn both lose, it will be the Owls who go down on goal difference.
