Next Man United Manager Odds: Shock name emerges as potential candidate

As pressure mounts on Erik ten Hag, a name most won't have expected has emerged as a likely candidate for the job.

Pressure continues to mount on Erik ten Hag, who has managed just two wins in his last nine games in the run in to the end of the season and looks destined to miss out on European football.

United currently occupy the 15th spot on the xPTS (expected points) table in the Premier League this season, falling short of the lofty expectations set for their star-studded squad.

With heads rolling behind the scenes and new faces in decision making positions, the Dutchman will be loking over his shoulder.

One name United fans will be surprised to see emerging as one of the favourites to replace him is current Brentford manager, Thomas Frank.

Frank steered Brentford clear of relegation this season, overcoming a season long injury crisis and the absence of their star striker, Ivan Toney.

The Danish head coach could be found at odds as long as 25/1 yesterday but is currently as short as 5/1 at some bookies to be the next Man United manager.

Manager Best Odds Worst Odds
Thomas Tuchel 7/2 7/4
Gareth Southgate 9/2 2/1
Thomas Frank 13/2 5/1
Graham Potter 8/1 11/2
Roberto De Zerbi 14/1 10/1

Who is the Favourite to be the next manager of Manchester United?

Having been considered an outsider earlier in 2024, Tuchel has seen his odds slashed from 12/1 to the 7/2 favourite on Paddy Power since the start of March.

It was announced the German manager would depart Bayern Munich at the end of the season in February after he failed to lead the Bundesliga giants to a league title for the first time in 11 years.

Second favourite is Gareth Southgate who will lead England into the Euro's in Germany this summer before reevaluating his options. He is a 9/2 best price at Paddy Power.

The shock of them all is Thomas Frank who has emerged as third favourite to get the job after his odds were sliced significantly today.

He is available at a best price of 13/2 (13% implied chance) but can be found as short as 5/1 (17% implied chance) at various bookmakers.

Frank has taken the Bees into the Premier League and been at the centre of three succesful campaigns for them, including a ninth placed finish in their second season in the league.
