Euro 2024 is nearly upon us and we have teamed up with our partners at Spreadex to bring you a spread betting preview of the upcoming tournament.
With spread betting markets on offer as well as the usual fixed odds options, there are a myriad of selections to choose from covering Tournament Totals (137 – 142 Total Goals predicted from the 51 games), Team Markets (England Tournament Goals 10.5 – 11.5), Groups (Minutes until Scotland’s first Group Goal 108 –116) or Individuals (Mbappe Tournament Goals 3.3 – 3.6) as well as for the matches themselves.
Gareth Southgate’s England side are the favourites to lift the trophy, but away from the outright markets, we have drilled down into the numbers to pick out three spread betting options that we think offer plenty of value.
BUY JUDE BELLINGHAM PLAYER GOALS @1.8
There isn’t much more that can be said about Jude Bellingham that hasn’t been said already with the 20-year-old already a sensation in both the white of England and the white of Real Madrid.
His maiden season at the Bernabeu saw him hit 19 goals in 28 league appearances with a further four goals in eleven appearances in the Champions League and his form means he is a nailed-on starter for England.
The Three Lions should go deep into the tournament with a fairly straightforward draw and reaching the semi-finals would be a minimum expectation for Gareth Southgate’s side. With Bellingham such a key player for the Three Lions, this gives the Stourbridge-born youngster a likelihood of six games to find the back of the net in.
Bellingham has two goals from his last five international appearances and having been listed as an attacker in the England squad announcement, it is clear to see what Southgate plans to do with him. A starter in all of England’s World Cup matches in Qatar, Bellingham should have the game time and the quality to reward buyers on 1.6-1.8 goals spread.
As an example, if Bellingham finishes with three goals and you placed a £10 buy bet, then you would win £12. But if Bellingham only ended up with one goal, that £10 buy would lose £8.

SELL HUNGARY GROUP GOALS CONCEDED @5
Hungary are fast growing a reputation for being awkward opponents on the international stage and the nation that gave the world attacking talents like Ferenc Puskas, Sandor Kocsis, and Laszlo Kubala have developed a reputation for a stout defence.
The Magyars topped their qualification group ahead of fellow Eastern European sides Serbia, Montenegro, Lithuania and Bulgaria without losing a match. Whilst the standard of opposition is hardly world beating, they secured their qualification by shipping seven goals in their eight matches.
Games against top quality opposition are few and far between for the Hungarian side, but in their Nations League campaign in 2022, they conceded five goals in five games against England, Germany, and Italy.
Their 1-0 win in their Nations League clash with Germany (whom they play second in the group stage) saw a back three of Willi Orban, Adam Lang, and Attila Szalai with Milos Kerkez and Attila Fiola at wing back. Nearly two years later, all five have been called up by Marco Rossi with Leipzig keeper Peter Gulacsi likely to start behind the defensive unit.
With a settled, experienced backline and a decent bit of form heading into the Euros, we fancy Hungary to do quite well and they will certainly make life difficult for Scotland and Switzerland. Whilst repeat heroics against the Germans may well be beyond them, we can’t see the host nation blitzing Rossi’s side in the groups and we like the look of a sell bet on Hungary’s Group Goals Conceded spread at 5-5.5.
BUY DENZEL DUMFRIES ASSISTS @0.6
The Netherlands are always a tough side to play in major tournaments and this team promises to be no different, although they will do well to top the group ahead of France. One player who has been key to their attacking success has been Denzel Dumfries with the Inter wing-back heading into the Euros having helped his side to the Scudetto with four goals and five assist from 31 matches for the Nerazzurri.
In Euro qualifying, only Bruno Fernandes (9) and Kylian Mbappe (6) managed to record more assists than Dumfries who notched five in six appearances for the Oranje. Even if you chalk off two of those assists which came against minnows Gibraltar, a record of three from five matches is certainly not to be sniffed at.
With the Dutch likely to play at least five games, buyers at 0.4-0.6 need the Inter wideman to bag just one assist for profit and we think Dumfries is more than capable of doing just that.
It is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. All spreads were correct at the time of writing.
