Championship Table Predictions: The final table according to the odds

How will the Championship play out according to the betting odds?

The Championship 24/25 season kicks off this Friday, August 9th, as 24 teams vie for promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds United will be eager to improve on last season's disappointing finish. Despite accumulating 90 points, Farke's men fell short of securing promotion, marking the first time in six Championship seasons that such a tally wasn't enough for automatic promotion.

Elsewhere, Wayne Rooney returns to the league with Plymouth, determined to make amends after his brief and underwhelming 83-day stint with Birmingham.

Similarly, Scott Parker takes the reins at Burnley, aiming to replicate the promotions he achieved with Fulham in 2019/20 and Bournemouth in 2021/22.

Luton, Burnley and Sheffield will drop down following relegation from the Premier League, while Portsmouth, Derby and Oxford move up from League One.

Championship Predictions 24/25

Only three sides will gain promotion from the Championship to the Premier League with the top two in the league gaining automatic promotion and one side going up via the play-offs.

At the other end of the table, the bottom three sides will be relegated to League One.

As things stand, the bookmakers predict Leeds and Burnley will achieve automatic promotion this year, while Oxford, Plymouth and Preston face the drop. Below is the likeliest final table according to the latest betting odds through oddschecker.

Championship Winner Odds

Team Best Odds Implied Probability
Leeds 7/2 22%
Burnley 8/1 11%
Luton 12/1 8%
Middlesbrough 14/1 7.1%
Coventry 16/1 5.9%

Leeds are the favorites to win the Championship, with the best odds of 7/2 available at bet365.

After a solid 2023/24 season that saw them narrowly miss out on promotion by losing to Southampton in the playoff final at Wembley, Farke's side is determined to bounce back.

Confidence is high, as Leeds have retained the services of Championship expert Daniel Farke. Known for his impressive track record, Farke has never finished outside the top three and has achieved 90 points in each of his three seasons in the league.

Championship Relegation Odds

Team Best Odds Implied Probability
Oxford 11/8 42%
Plymouth Argyle 9/4 31%
Preston 4/1 20%
Blackburn 4/1 20%
Millwall 9/2 18%

Oxford are the favorites to be relegated from the Championship, with Sky Bet offering the best odds at 11/8. The U's, who secured promotion from League One last season via the play-offs, undoubtedly face a tough challenge staying in the division given their limited budget.

However, they might take some solace in knowing that only three of the last ten teams promoted to the Championship via the play-offs were relegated the following season.
