Robbie Keane is making a late move in the Coventry manager market.
Frank Lampard has been the big favourite in the next Coventry manager odds ever since the Sky Blues board made the surprise decision to sack Mark Robins.
Robins, who was the longest serving manager in the English Football League (EFL), lost his job after just four wins from 14 Championship matches this season. He left the club 17th in the table, out of the relegation zone only on goal difference.
46-year-old Lampard was quickly installed as the favourite in the market, which gives him a close to 78% chance of becoming the new Coventry manager at odds of 2/7 (Sky Bet).
Frank Lampard Coventry Odds
Odds of 2/7 with Sky Bet suggest the 106-cap England midfielder, who took Derby County to the play-off final in his only season as a Championship manager (2018/19), is closing on a return to management after spending 18 months out of work since leaving Chelsea for the second time in May 2023.

Robbie Keane Coventry Odds
Lampard might remain the big favourite to succeed Robins but the latest betting activity through oddschecker suggests there could be a late sting in the tale.
Former Coventry striker Robbie Keane is on the move, having been cut from 20/1 at the start of yesterday into 10/3 by the close of the day (implied 23% chance).
The 44-year-old has held two managerial roles so far in his career, a short period as player manager with former Indian club ATK and just under a year with Turkish side Maccabi Tel Aviv.
He is best known for his exploits with Republic of Ireland as a player, finishing as the country’s record goalscorer with 68 strikes from 146 appearances.
He scored three times as Ireland reached the last 16 of the 2002 World Cup.
However, his 20+ year career did include a productive 12-month spell with Coventry, where he scored 12 times in the Premier League to secure a £13 million move to Inter Milan.
His goals with Coventry were the first of his 125 in the Premier League (91 of those for Tottenham), which puts him 17th on the list of the league’s all-time top scorers. He made 342 Premier League appearances, scoring a goal every 194 minutes.
