A few favourites have quickly emerged as Northampton Town hunt for a new manager to replace Jon Brady.
Northampton Town are looking for a new manager after Jon Brady resigned from his position following the club’s 2-0 defeat to Stevenage on Tuesday.
The result leaves the Cobblers 21st in the League One table, inside the relegation zone over Leyton Orient on goal difference.
Northampton are now odds on with some bookmakers to be relegated to League Two at the end of the season but can be backed at a best price 5/4 on Paddy Power.

Brady had been with the club for just under four years, a period which included relegation from League One in 2021, a League Two playoff semi-final defeat and promotion back to the third tier in 2022/23.
Ian Sampson and Marc Richards are set to take temporary charge in the interim, but who are the favourites with the bookmakers to replace him permanently?
Who will be the next Northampton manager?
Michael Appleton is the bookmakers' favourite to replace Jon Brady in the next Northampton manager odds market at a best price of 5/1 on BetVictor.

Appleton, out of work since leaving Charlton in January of this year, has endured short and relatively unsuccessful spells with Charlton and Blackpool in the last few years since a near three-year tenure at Lincoln finished in April 2022.
The most successful time of his career came at Oxford, however, where he took the side from 13th in his first season in League two to 2nd in the following season (achieving promotion to League One), before consolidating with an 8th place League One finish and earning himself a move to Premier League Leicester City as assistant manager.
Another frontrunner in the market is Gary Rowett (6/1), whose last post was an unsuccessful period trying to keep Birmingham City clear of relegation from the Championship last season.
He enjoyed a successful period with Burton in the first managerial job of his career, losing out in the play-offs two years in a row before his first spell at Birmingham.
He took the Blues from 21st in the Championship to 10th at the end of his first season before his controversial sacking in December 2016 upon the club's change of ownership.
Rowett has subsequently managed Derby County, Stoke City and Millwall.

The most eye-catching of the top five is pundit turned manager Robbie Savage, who has guided Macclesfield Town to the top of the Northern Premier League – the seventh tier of English football. Odds of 8/1 make it 11% likely he'll take the Northampton job.
Meanwhile, a current outsider is the 46-year-old Ryan Lowe (20/1), who is yet to take a new job since leaving Preston in August despite being among the frontrunners for vacant positions at Cardiff, Hull, Carlisle and Stoke in the subsequent four-month period.
The first match of the Championship season was his 125th and final match in charge of Preston, who he had led to 13th, 12th and 10th place finishes since taking the job in December 2021, immediately after leaving Plymouth Argyle.
