There are two favourites to take over as West Brom manager going into the Baggies' home match with Preston today.
Carlos Corberan's time as West Brom manager came to an official end on Boxing Day as the Spaniard agreed to become the new head coach of Valencia.
Valencia, who are joint-bottom of La Liga following an awful start to the season in which they have won just two of their first 17 league fixtures, triggered Corberan's £2.5 million release clause.
The 41-year-old had been at the Hawthorns since October 2022, leading them to the brink of the playoffs from second bottom of the Championship after 16 games.
He went one better in 2023/24 before losing to eventual winners Southampton in the playoff semi-finals.
Corberan had been heavily linked with the jobs at Leicester, Wolves and Southampton in recent weeks before the appointments of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Vitor Pereira and Ivan Juric respectively.
In fact, only Kasper Hjulmand, Danny Rohl, David Moyes and Juric took more bets in the next Southampton manager odds market through oddschecker.

Igor Tudor (7/2) and John Heitinga (5/1) are the bookmakers' favourites to replace Corberan as West Brom manager now that Mark Robins has been appointed as Stoke manager on a long-term deal.
Tudor, capped 55 times by Croatia as a player, has been out of work since leaving Lazio in the summer, resiging despite winning six of his 11 matches in charge. His managerial career has been littered with short spells since spending close to two years with Hadjuk Split in his first role as a manager.
Heitinga, who arrived as one of Arne Slot's number 2's at Liverpool last summer, has helped the Reds to open up a sizeable lead at the top of the Premier League table. He had spent most of the previous season as David Moyes' assistant at West Ham before the Scot was sacked last summer.

The third favourite at the time of writing is the recently ousted Southampton manager Russell Martin (10/1 BetVictor). After the embarrassing 5-0 defeat at home to Tottenham, the Saints' board finally dismissed Martin, who left the club rock-bottom of the Premier League with just five points to their name.
Bristol City coach Liam Manning is another option despite being just over a year into his time at Ashton Gate. The three-time EFL League One Manager of the Month from his time with MK Dons and Oxford United is 9/1 with one bookmaker but as big as 33/1 elsewhere (Sky Bet).
You can find similarly fluctuating odds for David Moyes (12/1 to 33/1), who restored his reputation at West Ham after unsuccessful spells with Man United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland. He saved the Hammers from relegation twice over two spells before securing three top nine finishes and a first trophy in 43 years - the Europa Conference League.
