The contenders are queuing up to replace Rob Edwards at Luton, a Premier League side as recently as last season.
With the team languishing in 20th place and just two points clear of the Championship’s relegation zone, Luton announced on Thursday that manager Rob Edwards had left the club by mutual consent.
Following his appointment in November 2022, Edwards led the Hatters to promotion to the Premier League for the first time ever, via Wembley and a play-off final penalty shootout.
Edwards’ side gave a respectable account of themselves in their solitary top-flight campaign, finishing 18th - and above the other two promoted sides - with 26 points.
Results on their return to the second tier have been far from what is expected, though, with just seven wins from 26 league matches so far. Who is next in line for the Hatters?

Former Millwall boss Neil Harris has been installed as the early favourite to replace Rob Edwards at Kenilworth Road, priced at 2/1 with BetVictor.

Harris is followed in the market by former Stoke and Plymouth boss Steven Schumacher (4/1), while Steve Cooper - available after departing Leicester in November - is 6/1.
Further out, David Moyes is 10/1 to take the role as his first position since leaving West Ham last May, while the likes of Tony Mowbray and ex-Southampton manager Russell Martin are both priced at 12/1.
Cooper and Moyes are, therefore, arguably the highest profile names trailing the early market leader. The former left Leicester in November with the club just two points above the drop zone having collected two wins from the opening 12 matches.
The 44-year-old ultimately failed to fill the big boots vacated at the King Power Stadium by title-winning boss Enzo Maresca, now with Chelsea.
His Leicester team conceded 23 times in the first 12 matches - only Wolves (28) and Southampton (24) had leaked more. Brentford (19.2) and the Saints (17.8) were the only teams giving up more chances than the Foxes (17.6) at the time of his departure.
Moyes, meanwhile, restored his reputation at West Ham in recent years after unsuccessful spells with Man United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland.
He saved the Hammers from relegation twice over two spells before securing three top nine finishes and a first trophy in 43 years - the Europa Conference League.
Ironically his tenure is probably looked on more favourably now given Julen Lopetegui's struggles before being replaced by Graham Potter. In fact, his reputation - as well as recent comments made by him - make him unlikely to take the job at Luton.
In an interview over the festive period, he said: "I don't want to be at the bottom of the league and fighting relegation which I have had a few times."
