Arsenal’s striker search has narrowed to a straight shootout between Viktor Gyökeres and Benjamin Šeško, while Tottenham could hijack Manchester United’s move for Bryan Mbeumo.
The 2025 summer transfer window has only just re-opened, but already a trio of forwards are dominating the headlines.
Viktor Gyökeres, Benjamin Šeško, and Bryan Mbeumo are at the centre of intense transfer speculation, with Premier League clubs locked in a battle for the prolific goalscorers.

Arsenal are in the market for just one forward this summer, and their shortlist has narrowed to two high-profile names: Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško.
Arsenal are currently favourites to sign him at 4/5 with Sky Bet.
Both offer different qualities, but the Gunners can only afford a move for one of them.
Gyökeres has been a goal machine in Portugal, netting 97 goals in 102 games since arriving at Sporting in 2023, including a staggering 54 in the 2024-25 campaign.
But despite his incredible numbers, a transfer has been complicated by a public fallout between his agent and Sporting president Frederico Varandas.
Arsenal have long admired the 27-year-old Swede, but are unwilling to meet his £84m release clause.
Though a lower price was reportedly agreed informally, Sporting insist he won't leave for less than €80m.
Manchester United and Juventus remain interested, but Gyökeres is understood to have turned down United, due to their lack of European football.

Šeško, meanwhile, seems to be Arsenal’s current frontrunner at a best price of 1/5 with Ladbrokes to join Arteta's side.
The 22-year-old Slovenian scored 21 goals last season and brings a unique blend of pace, height, and finishing.
Talks with Leipzig have reportedly advanced, and while the Bundesliga side are holding out for up to €100m, Arsenal remain in pole position.
Chelsea and Liverpool are circling, but it looks like Šeško is keen to join the Gunners.

Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo looked on course to become Manchester United’s second major summer signing after the Red Devils tabled a £45m bid, plus £10m in add-ons.
Having scored 20 goals and registered eight assists in the Premier League last season, the 25-year-old forward had been identified as a key target by manager Ruben Amorim.
However, the situation has shifted. Thomas Frank’s recent move from Brentford to Tottenham has sparked rumours that he wants to bring Mbeumo, whom he coached for five seasons, with him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs are now weighing up a move, with Mbeumo seen as a ready-made solution to their wide attacking needs.
With no release clause in his contract, which has a year left plus an option to extend another year, Brentford are holding firm, but their former manager’s presence in north London could tip the scales.
Man United are currently frontrunners to sign him at a best price of 4/9 with Ladbrokes but Tottenham aren't far behind at 2/1 (BetMGM).
