A former Premier League manager has emerged as the new betting favourite to become Leicester City’s next manager, following a significant wave of support from punters on Monday morning.
According to Oddschecker, the former Wolves manager saw his odds cut from 14/1 to the 6/4 favourite (Bet Victor) across the space of 15 minutes on Monday morning. This movement represents an increase in implied probability from 6.7% to 40%.
After taking just 5% of all bets placed to be the new Leicester manager last week, on Monday O’Neil’s total share increased to 62%.
Such a dramatic shift in odds suggests there has been a significant amount of money placed with the bookmakers on Monday morning.
Another potential candidate who’s seen support in recent days is Chris Wilder, who’s odds have been cut from 20/1 to 11/4 since Saturday.
Other names at the top of the market include Danny Rohl (9/4), Sean Dyche (5/2), and Lee Carsley (7/1).

Quote from Oddschecker’s Leon Blackman: “All change in the Leicester City next manager market on Monday morning with Gary O’Neil installed as the new favourite. A huge spike in money for O’Neil saw his odds cut from 14/1 to 6/4 in the space of 15 minutes! Such a market move implies there has either been a big sum of money placed or a large volume of bets coming in on Monday morning across the bookmakers hosting these odds.”
