The count down is on to find out who will be crowned the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, so here's everything you need to know before the ceremony in Paris tonight.
This article was last updated on September 22, 2025
We are just hours away from the world's most renowned footballers gathering at the Theatre du Chatelet in central Paris to bestow the Ballon d'Or on the top performing player of the 2024/25 season.
As it does every year, the Ballon d'Or is dividing opinion once more, as football journalists vote to determine the best footballer in the world.
We were treated to some elite individual performances last term, however only one player can mark their name into history and join the prestigious list of players to have previously won the award.
The 30-man nominee shortlist was announced back in August, but now is the time to look at the latest odds for this year's winner, the best betting offers and all the other important information ahead of tonight's event!
Who is the favourite for the Ballon d'Or 2025?
With just hours until the ceremony, there have been major changes in the odds to determine the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner.
The frontrunner remains French forward Ousmane Dembele. Injury-free and revitalised under the management of Luis Enrique, Dembele notched 35 goals and 16 assists in 53 games last term, as PSG won four trophies including their first ever Champions League.
However, the 28-year-old's odds have drifted from from 1/6 to 1/3 in the last couple of hours to receive football's most prestigious individual award. At an implied probability of 75%, the UK bookmakers still have Dembele as very likely to lift the trophy.
Perhaps his biggest competition is 18-year-old Lamine Yamal, whose rise since breaking onto the scene for Barcelona and Spain two years ago, has been nothing short of sensational. The teenager contributed 18 goals and 25 assists to Barcelona's historic domestic treble, which sees him at 3/1 and an implied probability of 25%.
The other three to make up the top five favourites are Vitinha of PSG, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Yamal's club mate Raphinha. All of which had incredible campaigns across the 2024/25 season and won various trophies along the way.
Having sat as the fifth favourite for a number of weeks, today has seen Raphinha's odds shorten to 16/1 and an implied probability of 5.9%, following his 34 goals and 25 assists last year. This now puts the Brazilian ahead of Vitinha and Salah as the third most likely to win the Ballon d'Or.
