Next Swansea Manager Odds: Who is favourite to replace Alan Sheehan?

Swansea City have sacked Alan Sheehan after a disappointing start to the Championship season, with just four wins from 15 games leaving the club 18th in the table.

Swansea City have parted ways with head coach Alan Sheehan after a difficult start to the Championship season that left the club in 18th place.

The decision came just two days after a heavy 4-1 defeat to Ipswich Town at home, which ultimately ended his six-month tenure as permanent boss.

Sheehan, who first impressed during two caretaker spells, was handed a three-year contract in April after guiding Swansea clear of relegation danger last season, collecting 24 points from 13 games to secure an 11th-place finish.

However, he has since failed to build on that momentum. Despite the club ranking among the league’s top sides for possession, they struggled to convert control into goals and results, managing only four wins from 15 league matches, three of which came against the current bottom three.

The club's search for Sheehan’s successor is already underway.

Who are the betting favourites to be the next Swansea manager?

Kim Hellberg is the 15/8 favourite with William Hill to become the next Swansea Manager.

The Swedish coach has enjoyed a strong run with Hammarby IF, boasting a win rate of over 60% in the 2025 season and securing Europa Conference League qualification.

However, with over a year remaining on his contract and the club eager to retain him, any move would come with a substantial compensation package.

Personal factors, such as a new child, could also influence his decision, making his availability far from straightforward.

Brendan Rodgers is also firmly in the frame to return to Swansea City, with bookmakers making him one of the favourites to take over following Alan Sheehan’s departure at a best price of 2/1 with William Hill.

Having previously guided the club to promotion to the Premier League early in his career, Rodgers’ familiarity with the Championship side make him an attractive option.

The 52-year-old left Celtic just over two weeks ago after resigning in the wake of back-to-back defeats and a breakdown in his relationship with the club’s board, leaving him available to return to management.
