Gibbs-White remains the most popular To Make The England World Cup Squad bet on Oddschecker this week, taking 14% of all wagers, while Levi Colwill is second with 12% of bets. Ivan Toney has also emerged as today’s third most popular bet, accounting for 6% of all bets.

Squad odds last updated at 15:00, Thursday 21st May.

Goalkeepers: Trafford shortens behind Pickford and Henderson

Jordan Pickford is now 1/50 to make the England World Cup squad, making him one of the shortest-priced players in the entire market.

Behind him, Dean Henderson (1/10) remains strongly positioned, while James Trafford has shortened to 1/4 to take the third goalkeeper spot.

That leaves Aaron Ramsdale (21/10) on the fringe, with the market still favouring Pickford, Henderson and Trafford as Tuchel’s three goalkeepers.

Goalkeepers according to the odds:
Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, James Trafford.

Defenders: Trent, Shaw & Colwill close in

The odds-based defensive group is led by Marc Guehi (1/20), Ezri Konsa (1/10) and Nico O’Reilly (1/10).

John Stones (3/10), Reece James (1/5), Lewis Hall (3/10), Dan Burn (4/9) and Harry Maguire (1/3) complete the eight defenders currently backed to make the squad.

However, the chasing pack is moving quickly.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has shortened from 2/1 to 11/10 this week, putting him just outside the projected squad. Luke Shaw has also been cut from 3/1 to 6/4, while Levi Colwill is now 6/4 after being 9/1 just 10 days ago.

Colwill’s price move comes after his return to the Chelsea starting eleven after returning from a long-term knee injury.

Defenders according to the odds:
Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Nico O’Reilly, John Stones, Reece James, Lewis Hall, Dan Burn, Harry Maguire.

Midfielders: Mainoo in the 26 as Gibbs-White keeps shortening

The latest odds have Kobbie Mainoo (2/5) inside England’s projected 26-man squad.

He joins Declan Rice (1/33), Cole Palmer (1/8), Morgan Rogers (1/20), Elliot Anderson (1/20), Jude Bellingham (1/7), Jordan Henderson (4/11), Phil Foden (2/5) and Eberechi Eze (33/100).

The biggest midfield story remains Morgan Gibbs-White. He is now 7/4 in the latest odds, but has shortened to as little as 4/6 with some bookmakers after being 4/1 earlier this week.

Gibbs-White has been one of the strongest late-season cases among England’s attacking midfield options, with his form, leadership and goal involvement pushing him into serious contention despite heavy competition from Bellingham, Palmer, Rogers, Foden and Eze.

Midfielders according to the odds:
Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Elliot Anderson, Jude Bellingham, Jordan Henderson, Phil Foden, Eberechi Eze, Kobbie Mainoo.

Forwards: Ivan Toney backed today

The forward group is unchanged according to the latest odds, with Harry Kane (1/50) and Bukayo Saka (1/33) among the safest names in the market.

Anthony Gordon (1/20), Marcus Rashford (1/4), Noni Madueke (8/15) and Ollie Watkins (1/3) complete the six forwards currently backed to make the squad.

The new betting angle is Ivan Toney, who is today’s third most popular To Make The Squad bet on Oddschecker with 6% of all bets. His odds have shortened from 5/1 to 6/4 with William Hill.

Toney’s case is built on goals. He has been in prolific form for Al-Ahli, having equalled the club’s single-season Saudi Pro League scoring record in April, while he was also recalled by Tuchel for England duty last year after a strong first campaign in Saudi Arabia.

Even so, the latest odds-based 26 still favour Watkins as Kane’s central-striking understudy.

Forwards according to the odds:
Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Anthony Gordon, Marcus Rashford, Noni Madueke, Ollie Watkins.

England World Cup squad odds: players on the fringe

Player Latest odds to make squad
Jarrod Bowen 8/13
Tino Livramento 4/6
Adam Wharton 8/11
Djed Spence 5/6
James Garner 10/11
Fikayo Tomori 1/1
Jarell Quansah 1/1
Trent Alexander-Arnold 11/10
Morgan Gibbs-White 6/4
Levi Colwill 6/4
Luke Shaw 6/4
Myles Lewis-Skelly 7/4
Aaron Ramsdale 21/10

This is now a very tight group, particularly in defence and midfield.

Bowen is the shortest-priced player outside the current 26 at 8/13, but Mainoo’s move into the midfield group appears to have pushed him below the cut.

Trent, Shaw and Colwill are all shortening quickly, while Gibbs-White’s price is far shorter with some bookmakers than his best available odds suggest.

Most popular England squad bets this week

Morgan Gibbs-White is the most popular To Make The England World Cup Squad bet on Oddschecker this week, taking 14% of all wagers.

His odds have been cut from 4/1 earlier this week to as short as 4/6 with some bookmakers, making him one of the sharpest late movers in the entire market.

Levi Colwill is the second most popular bet, taking 12% of all wagers. His odds have shortened from 9/1 to 6/4 over the past 10 days as he pushes to prove his fitness after a long-term injury.

Ivan Toney is the third most popular bet today, taking 6% of all bets, with his odds cut from 5/1 to 6/4 with William Hill.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has also been backed, shortening from 2/1 to 11/10 this week, while Luke Shaw has moved from 3/1 to 6/4.

Morgan Gibbs-White vs England’s stacked No.10 options

Gibbs-White’s odds movement suggests punters are expecting a late twist.

He remains outside the latest projected squad, but his shortest price of 4/6 shows some bookmakers now rate him as more likely than not to make the final 26.

The issue is squad balance. Bellingham, Palmer, Rogers, Foden and Eze are all currently ahead of him in the odds-based squad, meaning Tuchel may have to leave out an established attacking midfielder to make room.

Ivan Toney vs Ollie Watkins

Toney’s move from 5/1 to 6/4 with William Hill puts him back into the conversation, but Watkins remains the striker backed by the overall odds.

Watkins is 1/3 to make the squad, while Toney’s late support appears to be driven by his scoring record and renewed punter interest on the day.

If Tuchel wants a more physical, penalty-box No.9 profile behind Kane, Toney has a clear argument. If he prioritises Premier League rhythm and recent involvement in the England setup, Watkins still looks better placed.

Levi Colwill vs Dan Burn and Harry Maguire

Colwill is now 6/4, but Burn (4/9) and Maguire (1/3) remain inside the projected 26.

Colwill’s advantage is profile. He offers a younger, left-sided centre-back option. The concern is match sharpness after a long-term injury.

Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Reece James

Reece James has strengthened to 1/5, keeping him firmly inside the odds-based squad.

Trent’s cut from 2/1 to 11/10 shows he is closing, but he still sits just outside the current 26. His route into the squad may depend on whether Tuchel wants a specialist attacking full-back or prefers more defensive security.

Luke Shaw vs Lewis Hall

Lewis Hall remains inside the projected squad at 3/10, while Shaw has shortened to 6/4.

Shaw’s tournament experience gives him a strong late case, but Hall’s shorter odds suggest the market still expects Tuchel to favour him on current standing.
