Lamine Yamal is the 7/2 favourite to win the 2027 Ballon d'Or, hours after Harry Kane won this year's award.
Less than 12 hours after Harry Kane lifted the 2026 Ballon d'Or at the London Palladium, bookmakers have priced up next year's award, and the favourite is the player who finished third. Kane became the first Englishman to win it since Michael Owen in 2001, ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Lamine Yamal, but the market thinks Yamal's time is coming.
The 2027 award will be judged on the 2026-27 season, and there's no World Cup, Euros or Copa América next summer. Club form, and the Champions League final at the Metropolitano in Madrid on 5 June 2027, should carry more weight than usual.

Who Is Favourite to Win the Ballon d'Or 2027?
Lamine Yamal is favourite at a best price of 7/2, an implied chance of about 22%. The Barcelona forward has finished third and second in the last two years, won the Kopa Trophy again last night, and has started this season with 10 goals and 10 assists in La Liga and the Champions League. Barcelona lost the Clásico 2-1 on Saturday but are still top of La Liga, and he would be only 20 at next year's ceremony.
Mbappé is second favourite at 5/1 (17%). He scored both Real Madrid goals in that Clásico, taking him to 100 for the club and 14 already this season. After finishing runner-up last night, he's the most obvious challenger.
Can Harry Kane Win the Ballon d'Or 2027 Again?
Kane is 12/1 (8%) to retain the award, which looks generous given his start. He has 16 goals in 16 games for Bayern and England, Bayern are top of the Bundesliga and unbeaten, and he has already shown he can win the award without a major trophy. His Bayern teammate Michael Olise is shorter at 11/1 after a strong start for club and country.
Ballon d'Or 2027 Odds on Raphinha and Haaland
Raphinha and Erling Haaland are both 12/1. Raphinha is La Liga's top scorer with 13 goals, but he is still recovering from a knock picked up on international duty. He's also the early pick of punters: Oddschecker shows 100% of bets on him since the market opened. Haaland leads the Premier League scoring charts, though Manchester City lost to Aston Villa at the weekend.
Two PSG players have already been set back. Kvaratskhelia, sixth last night, has a torn ACL that is expected to rule him out for the season. Ousmane Dembélé, the 2025 winner, is out for about three weeks with a thigh injury and is 20/1.
When Is the Ballon d'Or 2027?
No date has been confirmed for the 2027 ceremony, but the shortlist is usually announced in September. The most important dates before then are the Champions League knockout rounds, from February, and the final on 5 June.
