The 2017 Masters winner was a controversial pick but is being heavily backed to star at Le National.
Despite being somewhat of a controversial wildcard pick, Sergio Garcia is the most popular pick for who will finish the weekend as Europe’s top point scorer.
In total, 27% of all bets in the last 24 hours have been placed Spaniard topping the European points table, leading to a change in the market.
It’s led to Garcia having his odds slashed from 20/1 into 14/1 to do so, and his odds are continuing to tumble.
Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy is the favourite for top European at 11/2 alongside Justin Rose at the same price. In-form Francesco Molinari is the third favourite at 8/1, followed by Jon Rahm at the same price.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Sergio Garcia's poor form in 2018 has been well documented and he represents somewhat of a gamble for Thomas Bjørn.
“This European team is short on Ryder Cup experience when compared to the Americans, but Garcia is a man with a wealth of previous knowledge.
A top 10 finish at the Portugal Masters has been enough to convince some punters that a return to form for the Spaniard is imminent."
