'Moliwood' and co. crush the USA to reclaim what they lost in 2016.
It was supposed to be an uphill task: A dream team of Americans coming to Paris to take the Ryder Cup back home. But Thomas Bjorn’s side crushed the USA to win back the trophy and spark scenes of wild celebration at Le National on the outskirts of Paris.

There were heroes all over the course, but Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood proved the focal point, winning 4/4 together on Friday and Saturday to set the tone for what was to come.

‘Moliwood’, as they were christened, could well be in for personal honours in the future, but for now there will be many punters (and Niall Lyons!) toasting the Italian in particular. As reported by Oddschecker, Molinari was the best-backed selection at 8/1 to be top European points scorer before a ball was struck.
As for Fleetwood, the likeable Englishman has had his odds slashed for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year: He’s now 16/1 in places after generally being 66s before this week.
Once the teams disband until 2010, the Race to Dubai will be a focus of many. Molinari is currently the 4/5 favourite for that, ahead of Fleetwood in second (10/1).
Finally, you can have odds of 7/1 that Fleetwood scores his first major next year. After his breakout performance this weekend. It’s no surprise to see the flurry of bets that have occurred on just that happening!
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Europe were the outsiders before the tournament but they crushed the Americans all weekend to reclaim the Ryder Cup. It was a stirring performance in particular by ‘Moliwood’ and it would be no surprise to see those two in particular kick on in the future to score more honours.”
